This photo has nothing to do with GenCon other than it was a pretty sunrise on our drive there. A pretty sunrise marred by a gas pump, but cool nonetheless. I have a few pics to share and a general GenCon post in the works. I may or may not have those all up before GC 2013.
Recently I introduced some people to the joys of Munchkin. I think they liked it okay. It might be funny to note that the person who was most stressed about the game actually won.
In the realm of “nothing exciting is happening,” here I have Wolverine protecting my finger. Dollar store band-aids are so fun. The injury? A broken blister received from the machine I use at the gym.
I suppose if I get into trouble for copyright picture shenanigans, I’ll take this down, but this menu cracked me up. Notice the price of those pancakes? 699.00??? Better be some damn good pancakes. I actually had the soup and sandwich and that only cost me 7 dollars.

Sorry about the quality of the photo…I found out the hard way that the zoom function on my camera should not be used. Ever. But this group is part of the reason I’ve been missing in action for the past week. It’s not a bad thing. There’s also the ongoing move and life chaos too. Hope to resume a normal blog schedule in the near future!
Saturday was free comic book day, so J. Felbs and I each loaded up. He’s read some of his, I haven’t read any of mine, but I will…just trying to get through this week and our impending move. Then I can kick my feet up and enjoy. Did anyone else get their comic geek on this past weekend?
Munchkin is one of my favorite card games. This is the scene from a game with friends last Saturday night. I need to remember not to play games when I’m tired, though. Also note the slinky and Spanish/English dictionary…an early birthday gift from one of my friends. Good times, all around.
I enjoyed a rare breakfast at Starbucks on Sunday. Though I use the drive-thru once in awhile, I’d forgotten how much I love a coffee shop atmosphere. For frugalistas, it’s a little bit pricey, but once in awhile I’m good with a splurge.
Our new apartment is up there on the second floor of that pretty and slightly ominous brick building. We’re moving end of May/beginning of June. Now that I’m over my initial “I just signed a contract” panic attack, I’m really looking forward to a new space.
More goodies: J and I picked up this print, a cover from an issue of Chew, and we had it signed by the creator, John Laymon. This one is getting framed.
Also, I highly recommend Chew. It’s a great series!
The Romance Factor
